Your most embarrassing date moment?
I meet up with this guy on a Thursday night for a drink and bowling. I go in knowing I would have one glass of wine, because I have a big work day the following day. I order my glass of wine and he orders a beer. I’m only about halfway through my wine when he orders a double whiskey on the rocks, and insists I get another drink. I politely explain my work commitments the next day and decline. We finish bowling, and he decides he needs a shot and another beer. 15 minutes later he starts profusely sweating and acting visibly drunk, so I decide it's time to go home. He gets very upset, confused as to why I am ending the date, but I hurry out the door… realizing I am still wearing my bowling shoes. I had to go back to him sitting there, drunk and upset, and say, "Forgot my shoes..."
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
Nike recruits only the best of the best. To be successful at Nike is to be exceptional by any other definition at most other companies. For that alone, I was proud to be given that opportunity when I was hired at Corporate. By my second year, I was determined to stand out. I took on as many projects as humanly possible from an Operational standpoint, working cross-functionally with Sales Reps and Buyers to improve process and implement new procedures. All this hard work paid off by the end of the year, when I was 1 of the 10 out of 400 people in my organization awarded as “Highly Successful” by Sr. Leadership.
