Your most embarrassing date moment?
I went to drinks with a guy who I'd matched with on Hinge, and upon meeting him, realized he had a very significant stutter. It's fine he didn't disclose this to me beforehand, but ALL he talked about was his stutter! He kept telling me about how he still sees a speech-language pathologist for therapy, and telling me about his treatment model, therapeutic intervention, etc. It was so uncomfortable! I just didn't know what to say after awhile.
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
Outside of my work with the NYC DOE, I provide speech-language pathology services for children who are birth to 3. I've been working with one family for over 18 months, and watching their child's progression has been the most gratifying and rewarding experience of my professional career. To see firsthand, a child who had no words and no functional communication, now speak in 5 word phrases is amazing! It has changed her life and the whole family's life!
