Your most embarrassing date moment?
I arrived a couple minutes early for a first date and made eye contact with a person, whom I thought was my date. She clearly thought I was hers also, and started walking towards me. I was so nervous about how I was doing with my introduction that I didn't catch her name, and it was only five minutes later that we realized that we were both there for different people. Our actual dates showed up moments later, and we spent an awkward next two hours trying not to make eye contact from our respective tables across the bar.
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
One of my most fulfilling moments was planning a field trip to the National WWII Museum when I was a U.S. History teacher in New Orleans. I'd made it a priority at the beginning of the semester to make my lessons more interactive, instead of just teaching to the test. The trip was a culmination of that effort, and while getting permission slips, buses, chaperones, and payments lined up probably took five years off my life, I'm extremely proud looking back at that trip and what it meant to my students.
