Your most embarrassing date moment?
This is both embarrassing and funny. Last summer I was on a first date, and while we were walking back to my apartment to have drinks, we walked by an event venue. My date asked what it was, and I explained that it was mostly used for wedding receptions. She grabbed my hand and dragged me inside, and of course, there was a wedding reception going on. I'm completely under-dressed in jeans and a button-down, but the wedding guests were pretty drunk, so my date and I acted like we were invited. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar and danced for a few songs, when the father of the bride came up to us and asked us who we were — we bolted. The first (and probably last) time I crashed a wedding!
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
I developed household appliance minimum energy efficiency standards for the U.S. Department of Energy, that will save Americans over $9 billion in home electricity bills through 2030. I presented my analysis at a public meeting held in D.C.
