Your most embarrassing date moment?
Hmm, this isn’t embarrassing (just bad), but my first job out of college was working for the New York Giants. It’s not something I bring up right away since the guy usually asks a million questions about the players. But I was on a first date with a guy in Boston and it came up naturally and we moved on to other things easily. The next day he called and left a message. I remember thinking it was so nice to have a guy actually call instead of texting or waiting a few days… turns out he was going to the Patriots playoff game that Sunday and wanted to know if I could get him field passes. He didn’t even mention that he had fun on the date!
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
Share Our Strength's largest culinary fundraising event in Boston was scheduled for what would become three days following the Marathon Bombings. I lived across from the second bomb and the entrance to my apartment was the FBI command center. It was completely blocked off, but in the days following I was able to talk the FBI Swat and Boston Police teams into driving a Uhaul van to the building entrance to help load up boxes from my apartment for the event. It was a tough decision on whether or not to keep the event on or push back to a date when the city wasn’t in such chaos, but I’m so glad we chose to do it. The night was an incredible showing of Boston’s culinary community coming together for good in the shadow of such tragedy.
