Your most embarrassing date moment?
I went to the LA premiere of a great new documentary called "DIOR AND I" with a really cute human, and I totally underestimated how amazingly everyone would dress. At my core, I identify much more with my dirtbag rock-climbing background than fancy LA, and the other premieres I'd been to were pretty informal. I wore a white tee shirt, slacks, and Birkenstocks, only to find that many of the women were wearing these amazing Dior gowns, and most of the dudes were in suits. We made it work, though!
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
I don't know, really. I just like to do my thing and not think too much about success. I think it's hard to make good art if you're too focused on the external gains. I remember I was really happy when I tricked Bill Wheeler into hiring me, even though I had no industry experience. He read some of my writing and took a big chance on me, and that was awesome. I was just commissioned to write two original plays, which I'm excited about. Also, when my mom came to LA and seemed really proud of me-- that was probably the most important.
