Your most embarrassing date moment?
I can't think of anything too crazy, but I've been on a few dates to sushi restaurants and I'm pretty horrendous with chopsticks. A few years ago, I was out with a new guy, and needless to say, the sushi ended up anywhere BUT my mouth. But in light of this experience and my true love of sushi, I've been able to swallow my pride (and more sushi) and now always ask for a fork from the waiter. I'm still waiting for someone to properly teach me... maybe something to add my Hinge profile!
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
I'd say I'm most proud of simply sticking it out for the first two years in Teach for America and then deciding to stay in the region as a teacher for another three years. The job has been an emotional roller coaster and incredibly taxing, but my students are the reason I get up in the morning and keep coming back. More specifically, I was thrilled after my first year working for KIPP when my 7th graders had the second best scores in New Orleans, and also last year, when I was asked to head my own grade level.
