Worst pre-Hinge date?
I set up a series of blind dates from another dating site, and stayed in San Francisco over Memorial Day weekend while my friends went to Vegas. Big commitment. The girls I met on Thursday and Friday were alright, but not my type. After the second date and multiple updates from my friends, I was so susceptible to FOMO that I booked a flight to Vegas at 1am and ditched the final two dates. I felt bad cancelling on them last minute, but I ended up having one of the most fun weekends of my life.
What are you most passionate about?
I’m involved with (and very passionate about) two different non-profits. I serve on the executive committee of the board of directors for EarthTeam, an organization providing environmental education in the East Bay (mostly Contra Costa and Alameda counties) to students who otherwise would not receive that curriculum. In that role, I’ve launched new branding for the company, fully redesigned the website, and established new bylaws to ensure sound governance, all while growing our annual budget by 15%. I also help lead PULSE SF, a young professional network that does outreach and fundraising to benefit the American Heart Association. Last year, I organized a flag football tournament at Candlestick Park for 200 athletes, generating over $40k revenue for the AHA. My sister has also joined PULSE this year and we’re planning the PULSE Ball, a semi-formal benefit hosted in a former speakeasy in SOMA - we expect nearly 200 guests!
